BEIT SIMCHA

BEIT SIMCHA

Located along idyllic Pine Tree Dr. in Miami Beach, Beit Simcha, is a private residence for an amazing family to experience and enjoy. Translated from Hebrew, Beit means House, and Simcha means happy/ joy/ a joyous occasion, and happiness and pleasantry characterize the spirit of the home. You enter through the historic entryway and your senses are awed by an abundance of flowers and foliage, designed in a collaborative effort with Chris Cawley Landscape Architecture and Verde Vertical. The property includes an existing home, designed by Architect Henry Hohauser in 1939, and PRAVDA approached this renovation and significant addition, which nearly doubles the size of the home, with careful intention, respecting the existing Art Deco tradition, while seamlessly fusing it with modern, healthy design. The renovation aspect of work includes creating an open and airy kosher kitchen, and the new addition includes an oval office, roof terraces, guest bedrooms, a Simcha Hall that can be used as a Living Room and a space for entertaining, and a brise soleil that converts into a Sukkah with the flip of a switch. The new Entry Court is bound by two 20’ high, colorful vertical gardens to your sides, natural coral stone below your feet, the entry gate and garden with trees at one end, the restored, historical home entry at the other, and open to the sky above. The entire home was designed to create a healthy and happy environment, and all of the building materials, including the wall finishes, framing, insulation, and millwork, were hand selected by PRAVDA to aid indoor air quality and enhance the experience; and the windows and doors were strategically placed to allow the option for natural ventilation. Plenty of storage and thoughtful, built-in millwork were placed for the easy organization of belongings and the presentation of artwork and chachkies. The biophilic design forms a family home that is soothing, satisfying, and serene, where many simchas will be celebrated for years to come!
